About us

We are an engineering service provider specialised in the simulation and optimisation of optical systems. Our focus is on the analysis of complex light paths in advanced optical designs and illumination with demanding requirements. Our customers are on the one hand from the aerospace industry where exceptional lighting conditions can have a large impact on system performance via scatter, ghosting and diffraction if the system geometry does not take these into account.
On the other hand we have customers from the automotive industry where the challenge is to meet legal or efficiency requirements for illumination systems or a uniform illumination of particular components. Our customers in the field of architectural lighting often have similar requirements with the additional aspect of light as a design element. The common denominator of our activities in all these industries is that we deal with light beyond just producing an image.

Dipl. Phys. Monika Kroneberger has 20 years of experience in optical simulation and illumination design. She worked at Kayser-Threde and OHB System AG for 16 years in the field of space optics, among these 10 years experience in systems engineering. Before founding digitX GbR she was the head of optical department at Gerg Lighthouse, an engineering and prototyping supplier for the German automotive industry.

Dr. Thomas Geppert
holds a PhD in Chemistry from Frankfurt University where he worked on software development for the processing and analysis of multidimensional NMR spectra. His focus is on complex data analysis and software development. Before founding digitX GbR he worked for Silicon Graphics, EMC Computer Systems, Hyperwave and Software Generation Limited.
